Ravensworth, Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2022

A family affair since 2001, Ravensworth is headed up by husband-wife team Bryan & Jocelyn Martin. Farming in a wild and wonderful vineyard in Murrumbateman, just north of Canberra, they focus on making premium, sustainable, and downright delicious wines from this lesser-known region. Tumbarumba Chardonnay 2022 is sourced from one of Australia’s best appelations for this variety. The grapes were hand-harvested, with half aged in foudre to retain freshness, and the other half aged oxidatively in small-barrels, so what you see in your glass combines the best of both worlds: vibrancy with richness. A nose of white peach, nectarine and brioche moves to a medium-bodied palate with good acidity and flavours of salted nuts, citrus and vanilla. Such an interesting Chardonnay and one of our recents favourites.
